Our traditional Norwegian red heart for Christmas.

Our Traditional Norwegian red heart.

Mor-Mor's Red Heart pattern. My husbands family are from Norway and Denmark. His Mor-Mor had these hearts on her tree.
One year I decided to copy them. This was done just by looking at them very closely. I think it came out pretty close.
On my first few attempts I added too many chains on the curved part which left gaps. ( as seen in the red one) On my latest attempts(white) I have corrected the problem. Here is the pattern that I have written down.
Do not sell these, only for personal use or gift giving.
Mor-Mor's Christmas Hearts
Size 10 cotton thread / size B-1 needle
ch=chain, sc=single crochet, dc=double crochet, sp=space, tr-trbl=triple-treble, sl st= slip stitch

Row 2-4: Ch4,( dc in dc, ch1, skip next ch space),repeat in ( ) to end (5dc on row) This makes a grid for the center of the heart.
Row 5: Ch1, turn, 2 sc in first sp, 1 sc in next sp, ch4, 1 sc in next sp, 5 sc in corner.(working around grid DO NOT TURN , rest is worked on this side) 1sc in next sp, ch4, 1 sc in next sp, 5 sc in next corner, 3 sc in next sp. (2x's) 3 sc in corner sp, join to 1st sc with a sl st.

(2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next sc, to end of tr-trbl fan) join with sl st to first sc after tr-trbl fan. weave in ends)
I do hope that you can figure this out. It is really easy it just sounds complicated.
